Beginner thumbpickers rejoice! This is a song that seems almost tailor-made for aspiring thumbpick players: only a few chord shapes, a simple melody and the option to get rid of the thumb over the side of the neck if necesary. I bumped upon this tune while researching Tommy Emmanuel's version, which is (to put it mildly) less beginner friendly.
